Ever since David Beckham attended the Bobby Charlton Soccer School, he wanted to be a professional footballer. That experience fired his imagination, and led him to pursue his dream. The results speak for themselves: one of the most respected and admired footballers in the world, player for Manchester United and Real Madrid, captain of his country; David Beckham has become a footballing hero to many.

Now he has established The David Beckham Academy to offer others the same chances that he enjoyed as a boy. The Academy aims to help young footballers pursue their passion for the game by providing tips, hints and training opportunities. It will inspire you to get into the game as much as possible, to be passionate about playing, about enjoying life, health and football.

LOCATION
The London Academy is the largest sporting facility of its kind in Europe. Built on the Greenwich Peninsula, south east of London, next door to The O2, it houses two full-sized, indoor pitches and state-of-the-art educational and medical facilities.

THE ACADEMY STAFF
The Academy football training programme has been developed by David Beckham with Eric Harrison, ex youth team coach at Manchester United, who helped discover young talents such as Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Phil Neville and David Beckham. The coaches are supported by full medical and administrative staff. Ted Dale, former youth team coach at Chelsea football club is the coaching director and is supported by Eric Harrison, who is the coaching consultant to the Academy.

THE FOOTBALL TRAINING
The training includes all aspect of play : passing, techniques, tackling, dribbling, heading, marking opponents, tactics and teamwork. There is specialized training for strikers, midfielders and goalkeepers. Matches and mini tournaments are organized by age and level. Sessions in the classroom are on physiology of the body, health, and fitness, nutrition, the media and include The Academy game. All Academy coaches are fully FA qualified.

1 WEEK RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMME
This programme includes 5 days, morning and afternoons of intensive soccer training, plus one whole day visit for sight seeing in London. Students will be put up at reputed hostels on room sharing basis (4-6 students / room) during the week. Full board is provided and students will have a choice of vegetarian and non vegetarian meals. Breakfast and dinner is provided at the student’s accommodation and lunch is provided at The Academy, during football training.
